ESSENTIAL OILS

Oils in pregnancy

I started using 100% Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils from doTERRA in June 2020. I heavily dove into the doTERRA community and started to absorb as much information as I could, learning about how people have been using plants around the world since the beginning of time for it's medicinal purposes. I discovered amazing relief for allergies when trying them at first, and have since then found uses in all aspects of my life. doTERRA responsibly sources their oils from plants in their native environment to produce the most pure, high quality product while also supporting communities around the world.

One thing I'm particularly passionate about is working with the birthing community and helping them navigate their pregnancies. I'm working towards doula certificates and interested in how natural essential oils can benefit those who may find themselves needing relief! Below is some more information about oils and my packages for products related different stages of pregnancy!

FAQ

What are essential oils and what is the purpose?

I use 100% Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils extracted from plants around the world in their native environments. These natural oils come from different part of plants such as sap, roots, leaves, etc which are typically either steam distilled or cold pressed. Each oil has chemical qualities which have been shown to make an impact on health concerns such as nausea, back discomfort, sleep, and so much more!

How are oils used?

One of essential oils most common uses is in a diffuser. A couple of drops can last hours and can cleanse the air while also being a direct health benefit as you breathe. Next use for oils is topically. You can add a few drops directly to your skin, use a roller bottle for your temples/ pulse points, etc. In fact, many people like to put essential oils on the bottoms of their feet as there are large pores on your feet which can help you absorb all the goodness the oils have to offer! Lastly if you are using therapeutic grade oils you can ingest them directly in your mouth or in a capsule.

What are the most common pregnancy oils?

One of my top favorite oils is of course, lavender! It has been called the Swiss army knife of essential oils because it has so many uses. It is known for its calming benefits to lower stress and anxiety and can commonly be found in all types of products from candles to hair care. It has also been known to help get a restful nights sleep.

Peppermint is another oils with a few different impactful benefits. It can be helpful for nausea, nasal congestion and muscle aches by directly applying it to your skin, ingesting or even in just inhaling it through a diffuser.

There are a few products that doTERRA makes which that are the perfect combinations for some things related to pregnancy. For back aches you can use the Deep Blue lotion which is an essential oil blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Blue Tansy, Matricaria (German Chamomile), Helichrysum, Ylang Ylang, and Osmanthusor, the combination of which gives a cooling effect and can provide muscle relief. For heart burn / tummy aches you can use their DigestTab chewables that include a tummy tamer blend, delivering digestion-supportive oils, and the acid-neutralizing benefits of calcium carbonate.
